In Maple Story, there are cities that players hang around when they're not abusing defenseless mushrooms. In reality, Maple Story is planting subliminal messages in the process, making you want to visit the real-life version of a city in Maple Story. Some of the more popular cities favored by 2nd job people are Ludibrium(which is Lego Land), Omega Sector(which is the National Air/Space Museum), AquaRoad(which is Sea World), Orbis(which is San Francisco, because of the clouds and fog) and El Nath(which is a mountain community up in Nevada, but for some reason, it has a Spanish name). Asian Story of a Maple have about 34 times more cities, but they're not nearly as populated. (216 people are spread out over 127 cities, rather than, in the case of MapleStory 350,000,000 people are located in just 4 cities.)

In Maple Story, players will be able to create characters that will grow as they learn new skills and become stronger. There are four characters to choose from: Warriors, Bowmen, Magician, or Thief. These characters can be dressed in many different and colorful outfits. Personalizing characters is one of the goals of Maple Story. Once a character has been created, they will learn skills that will help them when they reach Victoria Island.
