Manson

Manson, whose real name is Brian Warner, was a God-hater from the time he was a child. There is a false story being circulated around the internet through e-mails, about the early teenage life of Brian Warner. It tries to explain the reason Manson hates Christians so much by telling a lie of how Brian was rejected by a youth group at a church Christian school he attended while he was a teenager. It says that since he looked and dressed differently than the other teenagers that attended the school and church, they wanted nothing to do with him, so he turned to Satanism. WRONG! This story is deceiving as it leaves out a lot of important details.

Manson's mistaken belief that he had killed Crowe was seemingly confirmed by a news report of the discovery of the dumped body of a Black Panther in Los Angeles. Although Crowe was not a member of the Black Panthers, Manson, concluding he had been, expected retaliation from the group. He turned Spahn Ranch into a defensive camp, with night patrols of armed guards.[45][48]

Manson's fans have created numerous web sites dedicated to him. This reflects their rather morose preoccupation with Manson's sayings, writings, artwork and music. Sandi Gibbons, a journalist who covered the Tate-LaBiannca murder trials says Manson seems to have "managed to con a whole new generation."

In February 1951, Manson and two other inmates escaped from the Plainfield "school," fleeing westward in a series of stolen cars. Arrested in Beaver, Utah, Manson was sentenced to federal time for driving hot cars across state lines. Starting off in a minimum-security establishment, Manson assaulted another inmate in January 1952, holding a razor blade to the boy's throat and sodomizing him. Reclassified as "dangerous," Manson was transferred to a tougher lock-up, logging eight major disciplinary infractions - including three homosexual assaults - by August 1952. He was moved to the Chilicothe, Ohio reformatory a month later, and suddenly turned over a new leaf, becoming a "model" prisoner almost overnight. The cunning act was rewarded by parole in May 1954.

Possibly, Manson was aware of Melcher's departure from the place and had actually come in search of Altobelli, [76] but he asked Altobelli for Melcher. Altobelli said Melcher had moved to Malibu. Altobelli ... said, falsely, that he did not know Melcher's new address. In response to a question from Manson, Altobelli said he himself was in the entertainment business, although he was sure Manson already knew that. Altobelli had met Manson the previous year at Dennis Wilson's home, where Wilson had been playing some Manson musical recordings on which Altobelli had then complimented Manson lukewarmly.[77]
