Ms. Manisha Koirala will talk about her new film “Escape from Taliban.” It is a true story based on a three volume best seller entitled Kabuliwala’s Bengali Wife by Sushmita Banerjee. This is the story of an Indian woman who marries an Afghan man and gets caught in the middle of the Taliban’s increasing oppression of women. Afghan women help her to escape, at great risk to themselves.
Manisha Koirala probably thought she was making a film for the ART circuit- it does have that feel to it, no songs, minimum sets, the mundane watering of plants to show “realism”. The film ... is worthless, not even effectively copied by Nair and there is nothing Manisha can do with her vile character. This is no Summer of 42. Undoubtedly intended as a commentary on the loss of innocence, the film is anything but that. Like its characters the film is one-dimensional, openly sensationalist and emotionally bankrupt.
Making her acting debut in the Nepali movie Pheri Bhetaula (1989), Koirala made her acting debut in Bollywood with Subhash Ghai's top grossing drama Saudagar (1991). She went on to collaborate with some of the most prominent film directors of her times, and throughout the 1990s, was one of the popular actresses in India, mostly credited for her critically acclaimed performances.
These days Manisha Koirala is not seen on the screens, it is heard that she is giving more time into spiritualism these days. Manisha said that she is not religious but believes in spirituality and Buddhism which both are similar, as they have both preaching and thrust in meditation. Manisha has taken a break from films, and hadsnt stop doing films as some may think, she has a film coming out early next year and will have others too, but at the moment she is taking it slow.Desibaba loves Manisha.

The renegade of Bollywood, wild child Manisha Koirala has been more in the news for her bohemian lifestyle and men than for her films. She had the industry singing hosannas to her after the dream debut Saudagar but somewhere something went wrong and she just didn't land the right kind of offers till Vidhu Vinod Chopra packaged her serene good looks in 1942- A Love Story.

Manisha has a few upcoming releases listed, but none of them reads, or sounds, like comeback material. She ... recently turned producer and bankrolled two films, Paisa Vasool and Market, both of which fared poorly. Manisha is also said to have plans to turn director. Her attempts at reinvention are being attributed to sisterly concerns: her brother Siddharth Koirala has been attempting to launch his own career as an actor, and so far hasn’t got past the turnstile.
