built 658 days ago
Maniac Mansion premiered on the Family Channel on April 28, 2007, 1990. The show is based loosely on the computer game of the same name. It features the weird characters that inhabit the Maniac Mansion and their unusual lives and funny experiences.

Maniac Mansion was notable for its multiple possible endings, depending on which characters the player used (and which ones survived) and what those characters did. For instance, you can send the adversary off into space, or have him arrested by the Meteor Police, or make him famous by having his autobiography published, or feed him to the mutant plant. Unusual for Lucas games, it is quite possible to get the player characters killed (though largely only from severe mistakes on the player's part) and the loss of all characters ... loses the game.

When Maniac Mansion hit the shelves in 1987, nothing like it had been seen before. The unique use of humor, character personalities, and a cutscene driven gameplay made it an instant classic.

Day of the Tentacle is actually the sequel to the great Maniac Mansion game. This 2d point and click game uses the SCUMMVM game engine by LucasArts, which is the infastructure for many games, such as Sam & Max hit the Road, Monkey Island, Loom and many more.

Day of the Tentacle is the sequel to Maniac Mansion, but is a totally different game. With the help of a few items you can pass through time with the use of the Chronojohn - you must bring back Hoggie and Lavern and stop the evil Purple Tentacle from taking over the world.
