By 1965, Malcolm X was becoming slightly more moderate in his own views, when he was killed in New York City by members of a rival black group. His Autobiography was published shortly after his death, and in 1992, a movie on his life was a popular success.

Malcolm X was buried at the Ferncliff Cemetery in Hartsdale, New York. At the gravesite after the ceremony, friends took the shovels away from the waiting gravediggers and buried Malcolm themselves. Later that month, actors Ruby Dee and Sidney Poitier became co-chairs of the New York affiliate of the Educational Fund for the Children of Malcolm X Shabazz.

When Malcolm was in his early 20's he met a man which got him into the "gangster" life-style. He then began doing drugs. To feel like he was in with everyone else, Malcolm gets new clothes and a a gun. The gang, and Malcolm got into a lot of gambling. Malcolm messed up and almost got himself killed by the gang. Malcolm had to leave town with Sophia and Shorty, because the gang was still after them.

Malcolm left Boston to live for a short time in Detroit and Inkster, Michigan. He moved to New York City in 1943. There he worked again briefly for the New Haven Railroad. Malcolm found work as a shoeshiner at a Lindy Hop nightclub. In The Autobiography of Malcolm X, he said that he once shined the shoes of Duke Ellington and other notable African-American musicians. After some time in Harlem, he became involved in drug dealing, gambling, racketeering, robbery and steering prostitutes.

When irrational numbers were the new craze the Malcolm line decided to jump on board. Malcolm III decided, possibly in his Saran Wrapped craze, that his son should be named after the infamous number pi. In an unfortunate pie shop incident he was killed; it is believed that he haunts the halls of the pie shop to this day.

In Boston Malcolm earned his living on dirty jobs like shoe shining. Here he ... met his best friends for the following years, named Shorty. Soon Malcolm dropped into the criminal scene. After a year and a half he moved to Harlem, New York. Malcolm here gor his money from small robberies and from working for pimps.
