Mailer is a program for managing email aliases and mailing lists. It allows users and administrators to create and manage email aliases, by means of which users can change their "mail home", or manage simple mailing lists.

Mailer won a Pulitzer against every rule of journalism -- brevity, clarity, objectivity played no role in the way Mailer wrote. He was capable of employing magical language, heroic bombast and utter bullshit to obscure the light of his accurate critics. If he was truly libertarian as Hitchens claims, he certainly didn't direct his concern for liberty to women, conservatives or a host of other people or ideologies that were anathema to him. There was scarcely a farce in the second half of the 20th century that could take place without the presence of this bombastic, malevolent troll.

Embedding images in HTML emails is easy: Turbo-Mailer embeds all local images in your HTML message (image links to local files on your computer) directly into the email as internal attachment automatically when the email is sent. Image links to images on a server (<IMG SRC="http://...">) are sent unaltered. Best test for correct results with some of your own test email addresses and email viewers (sophisticated HTML is displayed differently in different email readers).

Mailer's second novel, Barbary Shore, was panned by critics. Several publishers rejected his third, Deer Park, and when it finally saw print, it met with mixed reviews. It was a pattern that would continue throughout his career, but as Mailer told Terry Gross in a 1991 Fresh Air interview, he never let his critics get the best of him.

At the height of his fame, Mailer encountered his most serious intellectual opposition in the form of feminist criticism, an opposition Mailer – the macho worshipper at the feet of Hemingway – could never entirely shake off. Responding to Kate Millett's 1970 Sexual Politics, a critique of three male novelists, including Mailer, Mailer wrote a polemic entitled The Prisoner of Sex, which was less an attack on feminism than a plea to understand his own complicated sexuality.
