After a break from films, Madhuri Dixit is getting ready to go back to work on Shaji N Karun's film, Suryamukhi. Karun is a critically-acclaimed filmmaker from Kerala, who won the prestigious Palme d'Or award at the Cannes Film Festival in 1988 for his film, Piravi. Karun's film is about the relationship between renowned Indian painter, Raja Rajiv Varma (1848 - 1906) and his muse, Ganga, the subject of many of his goddess-themed paintings. Varma, a married man, eventually fell in love with his muse, and their illicit relationship caused an upset among religious clerics at the time. Ganga ran away from Mumbai to escape her critics. The movie will begin from this point - as Ganga looks back on what she has left behind.
