Today (October 22, 2001) Macromedia partially unveiled their ColdFusion Strategy at MacromediaDevCon 2001. Besides that they ... made 2 announcements regarding JRun and how it will be supported by other companies like IBM and Intel. At last but not least Macromedia also announced that Intel will also bundle the jointly-developed, 3D-enhanced Shockwave Player with its Intel desktop motherboards.

Earlier, Mr. Wood founded and led iband Inc., an Internet software company acquired by Macromedia and SunRize Industries, a supplier of hardware and software tools for audio recording and editing. He holds a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Texas A&M University.

Blogging has completely changed the way in which Macromedia conducts its software development process. Before blogs, Macromedia would not release any product information until two to three weeks before the release day. (This was how most of the software industry worked.) Software development was a relatively closed process for Macromedia: some feedback was gathered from customers, but a lot of the work was completed inside the company.
