On 31.12.2007 German shareholders held 65.5 per cent of Lufthansa stock. To uphold air traffic rights and comply with EU operating licence requirements, the Aviation Compliance Documentation Act (LuftNaSiG) requires Lufthansa share ownership to be predominantly German or European.
