Lufthansa is reacting to the concomitant increase in the price for kerosene by raising the fuel surcharge for long-haul flights by 10 EUR. The surcharge will consequently rise from 20 July 2007 to 62 EUR per flight leg.

Pet travel: Lufthansa transports pets with prior reservation and for a nominal fee. A limited number of animals are permitted on each flight, and only cats and dogs are allowed to travel in the cabin. The maximum weight for animal and carrier is 18 pounds, with linear dimensions (length + width + height) of 46 inches. All other animals are required to be transported in the climate-controlled hold of the plane, even if you are on the same flight as your pet. Please contact Lufthansa reservations to make arrangements for the transport of your pet. All necessary travel and health documents for your animal must be up-to-date.
