Cover for the DVD release of the OVA Love Hina Again Although the Love Hina manga is generally regarded as superior, many fans in particular feel the total 90 minutes of the OVA are inadequate to cover the introduction of Kanako, a character who in many ways is already easy to dislike. Kanako, created mid-storyline herself... contradicts some established canon. Keitaro had previously mentioned no girl had ever been nice to him, though he may have not considered her, being his sister, albeit adopted. On the other hand, if he had forgotten the promise he made to his childhood love, and even her face, it is possible that he might not have remembered something this important. Critics and fans (mainly those who haven't read the original manga) have also taken note of the increase in erotic fan service, with some deeming it excessive.
While Love Hina's plot may not be terribly original, it succeeds thanks to endearing characters. From the zany Kaolla Su to the beautiful Aoyama Motoko, the residents of Hinata Sou are a diverse bunch, and it's hard not to grow attached to them. Despite the fact that the characters are classic shounen anime stereotypes, their personalities receive substantial development; by the series' conclusion, the majority of the cast no longer feels like mere cookie cutter characters.
Love Hina 4 'Love Hurts' The final chapter of Ken Akamatsu’s best selling anime and manga series, Love Hina has arrived! Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the Hot Spring! Keitaro and Naru have finally begun college life at Tokyo University! After a long period of studying, bizarre happenings, random trips, and misunderstanding upon misunderstanding, their dream has finally come true! However, their feelings for each other are still a little…muddled. And with a newer, stricter, manager to run the Hinata Apartments - Will anyone survive Hinata Boot Camp?

In the 90 minutes that Love Hina Again travels through, Keitaro goes with Seta on a whim to a new archeological dig. In his absence, his "little sister" Kanako shows up to run the place. However, through the miracle of hazy plotting, technically Kanako is not related to Keitaro; they just grew up together. Kanako is determined that she made a promise with Keitaro years back, and she's willing to do anything to make Keitaro her man. She's a master of disguise, and she repeatedly fools both Naru and Keitaro about her true identity. Naru will finally have to make a decision: will she put her petty fears aside and confess her love to Keitaro so they can get on with their lives, or will she wimp out in the face of stiff competition? Of course, they are more turtles, an ancient spell, and the other residents of Hinata Inn to deal with as well.
Packed with extra features, the Love Hina DVD is exceptional. With a sketchbook for your perusal, and a character gallery, you can quickly acquaint yourself (or reacquaint yourself) with the characters. The DVD comes complete with an informational insert, with interesting commentary on the movie and the legend.
Had this been a simple love-simulation without the Love Hina license all over it, this game should be nothing than a stupid game not worthy of your time. But it's Love Hina, it rounds-up some of the anime stories and it has things not even there in the manga. If you're a dedicated, big fan of the series, then go ahead do some import.
