1. Avalanche (Hockey Team) -- Teams
   In total, the Avalanche selected four players from the Canadian Hockey League (CHL), three college-bound players and one player from the Europe. The team had a couple of needs to fill in this draft and they addressed both. The forwards in the system needed a good injection of size and grit and the defensive prospect pool needed some balancing with more conservative-styled stay at home blue liners. In the 2001 draft the Avalanche really tried to get some size in their forwards, out of those selections McCormick and Stephens have performed well and added that much needed aspect. This year, the Avalanche drafted size at the forward position again and now have a very good balance of speed, skill, size and grit among the forward prospect pool. The Avalanche ... strengthened a deep defensive pool with two picks that embrace the stay at home style of play.
2. Hurricanes (Hockey Team) -- Teams
   The Hurricanes is one of the NYCGHA's competitive teams. The team is co-ed and consists of intermediate and advanced players. Skilled players players are welcome to try out to join the team. Everyone is welcome to cheer on the Hurricanes and meet the players after the games. It's free.
3. Tigers (Baseball Team) -- Teams
   After a pair of disappointing third-place finishes in 1985 and 1986, the 1987 Tigers faced lowered expectations - which seemed to be confirmed by an 11-19 start to the season. However, the team hit its stride thereafter and gradually gained ground on its AL East rivals. This charge was fueled in part by the acquisition of pitcher Doyle Alexander from the Atlanta Braves in exchange for minor league pitcher John Smoltz. Alexander started 11 games for the Tigers, posting 9 wins without a loss and a 1.53 ERA.
4. Volleyball -- Teams
   The Canadian Men’s Standing Volleyball Team lost an absolute heart breaker today in their quarterfinal rematch against Poland. Having already defeated Poland in round-robin play, the Canadian’s could not close the door in the final set and were defeated 2-3, 23-25, 22-25, 25-22, 25-23, 8-15
5. Ncis -- Team
   In season three, the NCIS team welcomed Mossad Agent Ziva David (Cote de Pablo), who takes Kate\'s place in the team, and the NCIS team gets a new director, Jenny Shepard (Lauren Holly, "Picket Fences"). Both Cote and Lauren were recurring stars before they became regulars.
6. Yankees -- Teams
   The Yankees not only made it to the 1996 playoffs, but they went 8-0 on the road. Following a win in the ALCS against the Baltimore Orioles (which included a famous instance of fan interference by young Jeffrey Maier, which was called a home run for the Yankees), the team went to the World Series against the Atlanta Braves. Despite losing the first two games at home by a combined score of 16-1, they won in six games and ended the team's 18-year championship drought. Homegrown shortstop Derek Jeter was named Rookie of the Year, an auspicious start to his career with the Yankees. After their first World Series win since 1978, the Yankees signed lefties David Wells and Mike Stanton to improve the pitching staff. They ... allowed closer (and Series MVP) John Wetteland to leave as a free agent.
7. The Warriors -- Teams
   The Warriors can't care about who gets the best stat line or even who takes home the prestigious GSoM Warrior Wonder award each night. They need a team effort night in and night out. If someone is struggling, someone else needs to step up. It doesn't matter which individual collects the stats. All that matters is the team gets one for the W column.
8. Steelers -- Teams
   The Steelers are one of a dwindling number of NFL franchises that strictly wears its team color jerseys at home, always opting for black. The Steelers last wore white at home on a regular basis in 1969, Chuck Noll's first season as coach and the last year the team played in Pitt Stadium. The team has done this for much of its history and has continued to do so as more NFL teams wear white jerseys in at least one home game. They are one of 13 teams since 1999 that have not worn white at home (14 if you count the New York Giants, who wore white in their 2005 "away" game against the New Orleans Saints at Giants Stadium as well as their numerous "away" games against the New York Jets since 1984.), and are the only ones in the AFC North to practice this. The Cleveland Browns have traditionally had on again/off again periods of wearing white at home, while the Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals, like some other NFL teams, wear white in their home opener before wearing their darker jerseys in their remaining home games.
9. Sports -- Teams

    The Raiders were one of the first teams established in Australia and the club's origins date back to 1983. Since those early years, the Raiders have won 10 State Championship titles including a record 5 straight Championships from 1987 to 1991 inclusive.
