In order to provide quality log systems for the lowest possible cost, Sisson Log Homes does not offer pre-cut packages. Experience has shown that the pre-assembly process is labor intensive and adds an inflated cost to the customer. Site cutting saves money in the long run and allows maximum flexibility in the field. You are able to build essentially any configuration without any limitations of a pre-cut package.

Log homes have always been a part of the American scene, but they became increasingly popular beginning with the "back to the earth" movement in the late 1960s. In response, many new producers entered the market, selling their homes as do-it-yourself kits to people looking for an inexpensive house and a way to get closer to nature. In time, the "earth" movement evolved into the more sustainable and quite permanent country lifestyle movement. People began to think of log homes as their primary residences. People still wanted a low-key lifestyle when they were away form work, but they did not want a home considered only for vacations," says Rouleau. The log home producers met the challenge and began producing homes that had a wider appeal.

Logs and beams produced by Sisson Log Homes are either kiln dried Eastern White Pine or Western Red Cedar timbers. All of the log systems produced by Sisson Log Homes feature an interlocking tongue and groove channel which is filled with an expanding urethane product during construction. This product acts as both a weather sealant and glue plus the logs are fastened together with specialized log screws.
