Lizzie Mcguire: Disney Channel
built 642 days ago
Lizzie McGuire is portrayed by Hillary Duff in the Disney Channel comedy series Lizzie McGuire. The titular main character and namesake of the series, she is a sweet-mannered and perky teenage girl, who tries to stick up for her friends and simply wants to get through life one step at a time. However, she ... has a tendency to get carried away at times, especially when she wants to impress her latest crushes. Lizzie is kind to everyone, even her foes, though she also dreams of being in the popular ‘in-crowd’ at school. She’s also clumsy, and her thoughts get shown by an animated version of herself that frequently appears.

While the Disney Channel shows no signs of taking Lizzie McGuire off the air, the show is coming to an end after star Hilary Duff refused Disney's offer. The fifteen-year-old star will not be growing up with the show, which may disappoint many tweens. As the show still airs at least seven times a week, your kid will know Lizzie age 12 to 14 very well.

Since ''Lizzie McGuire'' made its debut in January 2001, it seems that many viewers have been smitten. The series has generated one of the biggest new Walt Disney Company brands in years -- one that has already spawned successful lines of Lizzie clothing and merchandise.

Lizzie McGuire is such a popular show. It has been the highest rated Disney Channel show to exist. Even though the series has now ended, it is still enjoyable and memorable. What way to bring back all the charm created by the cast and characters of the show? Well, the release of the episodes of course. Something you can watch again and again and keep forever.

One of the hottest shows on cable television, and broadcast every Saturday morning on ABC, Lizzie McGuire has become a full-out phenomenon for the 16-and-under set. It’s easy to see why. The show is breezily paced, has a surprisingly good supporting cast and has the winningly magnetic Hilary Duff in the title role. It’s not rocket science, but as morning kids entertainment goes it is unexpectedly addicting (not that I’d ever admit to watching it on a semi-regular basis almost every Saturday at 10:00 a.m. on Seattle’s channel four or anything).

''Lizzie McGuire'' is especially popular with girls age 9 to 14, the so-called tween category in which marketers place young people who are no longer purely children, but not yet full-fledged teenagers. According to Disney, one of every two girls in that age group who watched television in October saw at least one episode, either on the Disney Channel or on Disney's ABC broadcast network, where it runs on Saturday mornings.
