Electra D. Goudeau, 44, of Springdale, recently became the 500th patient to receive a liver transplant at The University Hospital. She had been on the waiting list for a liver for 31 days. Goudeau is feeling well and resting comfortably at home. Steven M. Rudich, M.D., Ph.D., director of University Hospital's liver transplant program states, "Our long history and dedicated team of experienced transplant professionals have resulted in advanced treatments and excellent survival rates for patients with end-stage liver disease." The liver transplant surgery was performed by Joseph Buell, M.D. and Mark Thomas, M.D.
