Lohan's car accidents in 2004-2006 were widely reported. The first, August 2004 in Studio City, California, was a minor rear-ender, though the victims threatened to sue her in 2005.[56] Another, October 2005 in West Hollywood, occurred when Lohan struck a van. Police determined that the van's driver made an illegal U-turn.[57][58] November 2006 in Los Angeles, Lohan suffered minor injuries when a paparazzo who was following her for a photograph hit her car. Police called the crash intentional, but prosecutors said there was not enough evidence to file criminal charges.[59][60] When VH1 named Lohan "Big 'It' Girl" for its 'Big' in '05 Awards in December, it was, Lohan quipped, "because being Big in '05 means getting in three car crashes in one year, people!".[61]

Lohan turns 20 on July 2 and the projects she'll be working on in the next two years demonstrate a desire to have a long, meaningful career in Hollywood. It doesn't hurt that she's attaching herself to projects with big name talent like Anthony Hopkins, Aaron Eckhart and Adrien Brody.

Tracie Rice was in a car driven by Michele Peck, the mother of Lohan's assistant who had recently quit, when Lohan trailed them to the Santa Monica Police Department headquarters during a pre-dawn July chase. Peck told police she was being chased by a sport utility vehicle, and police later determined Lohan was the driver.

Entertainment media claim there is some animosity between Lohan and Hilary Duff (both have taken similar career paths, and both had previously dated singer Aaron Carter).
