Lindsay Lohan: Freaky Friday
built 126 days ago
Michael Lohan tells "The Insider" today that daughter Lindsay Lohan will remain in Utah for the next week receiving outpatient care. Lindsay completed her stay at the Cirque Lodge Treatment Center Friday. Michael, in Utah with Lindsay, says she will head back to L.A. shortly to work on a movie for several weeks and then will likely return to Utah to continue her outpatient program."

Lohan kicked off 2004 with her first big starring vehicle, the comedy Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. Met with mixed reviews and modest box-office receipts, the film didn't cross over from the teen audience the way Friday did. Only a mere two months later, Lohan proved she could carry a film. The Tina Fey-penned Mean Girls debuted at number one, recouping its budget and then some in its first week of release. The spotlight on the then-16-year-old Lohan changed almost overnight, as she quickly became a tabloid fixture: speculation on her body, her nightclubbing, her string of high-profile boyfriends, her incarcerated father, and her feuds with a variety of other young female celebrities became inescapable. Perhaps predictably, 2004 ... saw Lohan branch out into the world of pop music with the album Speak; the supposedly confessional -- and similarly undistinguished -- A Little More Personal followed in 2005.

Her subsequent roles include appearances in Robert Altman's final film, A Prairie Home Companion and Bobby. In 2004, Lohan launched a second career in pop music yielding the albums Speak (2004) and A Little More Personal (Raw) (2005).

Hoping to become a "triple threat" (actor/model/singer) like her idol, Ann-Margret, Lohan began by showcasing her singing talents through her films. For the Freaky Friday soundtrack, she sang the closing theme, "Ultimate"; she ... recorded four songs for the Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen soundtrack.

Lohan's mother, Dina, told PEOPLE Friday: "I'm proud of her. She's moving ahead with her life. Things were getting out of control. She took action. She took responsibility. She really needed to heal."
