[M]usic mogul Emilio Estefan, Jr. of Estefan Enterprises signed Lindsay to a five-album contract in September of 2002. Casablanca Records, with Tommy Mottola as head, signed Lindsay to a recording contract two years later and 'Speak', her début album was released in December 2004, and peaked at number four on the Billboard 200.

In addition to being a critically acclaimed actress, in 2004 Lohan released her platinum-selling debut album Speak, from Universal Records. Universal ... produced her most recent album, A Little More Personal (Raw).

Universal Music Group moved Lohan to Motown Records in February 2006, and shortly after she announced plans to begin recording a third album in April 2006. She is set to perform “If It’s Alright” for the film Flushed Away.
