In 2006 Lil Wayne released his critically acclaimed sequel to his Dedication mixtape with DJ Drama called Dedication pt. 2. On it, he included an outro track entitled "Georgia....Bush" on which he addresses the problems surrounding the government's response to Hurricane Katrina in his native New Orleans, Lousiana and ... places a large amount of blame on President George W. Bush. Throughout the track, he claims that theories of the government sabotoging the levees of New Orleans' Lower Ninth Ward were indeed true. The track was recorded on the beat to Ludacris' single "Georgia" which sampled the Ray Charles track "Georgia On My Mind." At the end of the track, and in silence, DJ Drama says "oh yea, u thought we was done?.....nah..." followed by the instrumental to the 2Pac track "Ambitionz Az A Ridah" plays with Wayne flowing over it for at least the next three minutes. This was actually a freestyle Lil Wayne had previously done on Rap City promoting the release of tha Carter II.

"Smarten up," That's what Lil Wayne told MTV news about mixtape DJs. He said of the Aphilliates arrests, "It's a bad thing, but you gotta play the game fair. If you don't play fair, all kind of things can happen. You gotta watch people like DJ Clue, watch people like DJ Khaled.

After the departure of B.G., Juvenile, Turk, and producer Mannie Fresh, Cash Money CEO Birdman probably spent a lot of time on his knees in thanks that Lil Wayne is still around. Though still a Hot Boy, after nearly a decade in the game Wayne is eager to prove that he's far from a little squirt, regularly beating off the competition with such force that it's understandable if he's feeling a little testy on the duo's new album. A rapper with this much spunk coming out his mouth doesn't need to spend any more time boning up on his skills or trying to impress people with his stamina. Wayne effortlessly dominates Like Father, Like Son to the point that Birdman often gets the shaft.

Lil Wayne was recruited by the Boyz N Da Hood. But due to scheduling conflicts involving promotion of Tha Carter II, he was never formally named an active member of the group. He still maintains a very good relationship with the group recording new tracks with them often.
