Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Album number two for Liberty X, Being Somebody is a set that glides in on the back of a fair few perfectly placed, Liberty-sized successes. Not least of these was the Being Nobody track the band recorded for bootleg renovator Richard X, a track that melded the Human Leagues Being Boiled to Chaka Khans Aint Nobody. Naturally the track figures here as do fifteen other lovingly sculptured musical confections. The perfect band for interpreting and communicating the UK pop scene and the way it moves forward in these preter-Neptunes times, Liberty X are adaptable enough to be able to let loose straight-up ballads, squelchy twenty-third century electro and up-tempo party grooves without missing a beat. Progressive, brilliantly-executed and almost robot-esque in its pristine production, some day all records will be made this way. But, till then, Being Somebody will lead the UK pop field by a long, long way.

The pop group Liberty X had their breakthrough as the finalists of the reality TV program "Popstars". Releasing their debut single “Thinking It Over”, the song became a hit in the UK and then throughout the world. In 2002 they issued “Just A Little” which was equally successful, reaching platinum sales in Australia, where the group achieved a superstar status. The third single “Got To Have Your Love” consolidated this status. Throughout the mid-00’s Liberty X toured excessively, playing with such acts as Bon Jovi, Pink, Sugababes and Shaggy.

Liberty X pictures Reveling in achievement after achievement, Liberty X now has another great year to look forward to, starting off with nominations for Best British Single for "Just A Little" and Best British Breakthrough Artist at the 2003 BRIT Awards. After battling the critics, and undergoing a slight name change and a Popstars cut (not necessarily in that order), Liberty X has started an amazing run with every release drawing big numbers. As new songs emerge, there is little doubt that this quintet will avoid going by the wayside for a long time.

Despite rumours of splitting, members leaving and being dropped by their label, Liberty X announced that they were still together but each doing separate things. Michelle, not long back posted on the group's official site stating they were still together and would be releasing a new single in the new year (January 2007) with a song from a forthcoming film. However, this failed to materialise. Michelle Heaton since then has married her lover of four years, Andy Scott-Lee who is best known for making the final seven in the second series of Pop Idol. Jessica Taylor got engaged to cricket star, Kevin Pietersen, Kevin Simm has appeared on Channel 4's The Games: Champion of Champions, competing for his team, and Tony Lundon was busy writing tracks for what would have been the band's fourth album.
Liberty X - X album cover / Liberty X Song 4 Loverz photoshoot Since Liberty X released their first album 'Thinking It Over' in 2002 they have evolved into one of Britain's biggest chart success stories. This is home-grown talent that really can do its job, super-succeeding where others have failed, all with their feet firmly on the ground. Liberty X have gained multi-platinum record sales and recognition reaching from teen-pin-ups to BRIT Awards and Ivor Novello's - and yet there is still so much more to come.
