Lexus RX 330 The Lexus RX 300 made its sales debut in America in March 1998 as a 1999 model following its premiere at the North American International Auto Show that year. The only engine and drivetrain combination available was the 3.0 L 1MZ-FE V6 and either front or four wheel drive. The RX 300 interior included leather seats, wood trim, a multi-level center console with storage drawers, and individual reclining and sliding rear seats. A shift lever mounted near the instrument panel freed up floor space for additional storage. On the exterior, the RX featured heated mirrors, automatic light-sensing headlights, a low step-in entry height, and an overall drag coefficient of Cd 0.36.[4] A 240-watt, 7-speaker Pioneer sound system was standard, while a Nakamichi premium customized sound system was available as an option. The Lexus RX was an immediate hit, and sold over 370,000 units in five years.[5]
Today at the Auto Show here in NYC, Lexus unveiled their new blind corner camera system. It features cameras mounted on the front of the rearview mirrors, giving you a view of the road when you're pulling out from somewhere with poor visibility, such as a parking garage. It melds the views from the cameras together, giving you a panoramic view of your surroundings. more

In addition to the usual Lexus standards of comfort and convenience, the IS F interior features specially shaped and trimmed seats that hold the driver comfortably and securely in place. The special leather-trimmed sport seats are available in Black with blue stitching or a unique high-contrast Alpine and Black trim. The standard SmartAccess keyless entry and push-button start allows the driver to keep the access fob in a pocket or purse.

Lexus' final entree in its portfolio is the LX. Based closely on Toyota's Land Cruiser, the LX 470 comes to the Lexus dealership donning a new badge, reworked interiors and a greater level of sophistication. The LX 470 will be succeeded by the all-new LX 570, which premieres at the New York International Auto Show in April 2007.

With the implementation of a dual air intake system, high-flow cylinder heads with titanium intake valves designed by Yamaha, Variable Valve Timing with intelligence and Electrically controlled intake cam (VVT-iE) and other technological advancements, the engine outputs 83.2 hp per liter allowing the IS F to accelerate from 0 to 60 in a blistering 4.6 seconds and achieve a maximum track speed of 170 mph.
Gizmodo friends over at Wired's Gadgetlab reviewed a Lexus, not for it's drive impressions, but for its gadget-ocity. The count: In-dash navigation system with rearview backup camera, heated and ventilated seats, SmartAccess key that unlocks the doors and enables the starter button when you get close, radar assisted cruise control, Bluetooth, and iPod connectivity. Oh, and a 306-horsepower V6, if you're into that kind of thing. Cockpit photo after the jump.
