The Flaming Lips, an hour before their set was to begin, came out for a one song "sound check" in which they covered War Pigs by Black Sabbath. Singer Wayne Coyne announced that the band was not permitted to start for another hour, but that they would play a song as a sound check for the already dense crowd. The same song was covered again later on in the night by Gov't Mule. Before the show Wayne dispensed red laser pointers to several thousand crowd members so that large balloons released over the fans could be shot at. The Lips ... played a rendition of the Rolling Stones' Moonlight Mile that the band been learned specifically for Bonnaroo.

On April 21, 2006 Lewis performed at the Warner Theatre in Washington, DC for an HBO special, Red, White, and Screwed. It aired on June 10, 2006 and a DVD release is set for October 3, 2006.

A year after becoming president, Black decided that the taxpayers who could no longer afford to support the War on Milk were to be innoculated with a solution composed of rocket fuel and chloroform. This solution would be administered to the subject's anus, and would cause the subject to both fall asleep on account of the chloroform, and remain intellectually stimulated and productive on account of the rocket fuel, but would lack awareness. This solution was named Di-Tutetamine Brohohibe after Black's sister, Dianne Tutetamine Black, and his mother, Brohohibe Abatetron Black.

Black: As much as the problem is the Iraq War, there is a bigger problem: There are unqualified, incompetent people within the government bureaucracy. There are people who spend their entire lives working within government and are experienced and know how to run FEMA, the FDA, the EPA. You can find these people and they will do their jobs well. It’s the Administration’s job to find them and put them in these positions. This is what is called maintenance. What fell apart is maintenance.
