On February 18, 2008, Black will host "History of the Joke, with Lewis Black", a 2-hour comedy-documentary on The History Channel. Black's hilarious journey uncovers where jokes come from, what inspires comedians to get into comedy, the nature of laughter, improv, the dirty joke and the role of truth in comedy. Black recounts what it takes to tell the perfect joke."

Lewis Black - The End of The Universe Lewis Niles Black (born August 30, 1948) is an American stand-up comedian, author, and playwright. He is best known for his regular appearances on Comedy Central's The Daily Show delivering his "Back in Black" commentary segment, in which he ridicules (often simulating a nervous breakdown or rant) recent trends and cultural phemonena. He recently purchased a house in Chapel Hill, NC and has stated that he intends to help found a comedy festival for collegiate comedians.
