Lego Star Wars: The Video Game: Action
built 234 days ago
Lego Star Wars The Video Game is pure action. You get to battle it out with light sabers, blasters, and Wookie bowcasters. As a Jedi or Sith, you use the force to push battle droids into walls and open up special rooms. Gathering tokens for blasting objects and using the force on them is pure addiction. Lego? Star Wars The Video Game is, simply put, a game you and your child will want to play over and over again.
IC-Games review and previews The PC demo of LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game has been released on http://www.legostarwarsthevideogame.com. And this announcement is followed by multiple screenshots of the game in action at IC-Games. The game will be available on most other formats though.
Truth be told, LEGO Star Wars is probably one of the best children's titles on the market today. Though it almost certainly isn't well suited for anyone under the age of six, its combination of puzzles, action, and Star Wars mythology is a heck of a lot of fun. And in a twist that's unlike most other family-oriented games out there, it's just as amusing for adults as it is for kids.

Explaining how LEGO Star Wars works is actually quite simple. The main gameplay mechanics are essentially the same one-dimensional bits that make up most actioners out there (with an attack, jump, and special button available). Using basic strikes and defensive skills, players will regularly chop or blast their way through an unending army of Stormtroopers, Sand People, and Bounty Hunters while fighting the occasional boss or mid-boss every couple of levels. But that's where it's similarities to other titles ends.

"We are thrilled with the opportunity to publish LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game for the GameCube in North America," said Bill Gardner, CEO of Eidos US Publishing. "This highly-acclaimed title lends itself perfectly to the gaming platform, as it literally combines the 'force' of two powerhouses, LEGO and Star Wars, to create an action-adventure title designed to appeal to everyone."
Luckily LEGO Star Wars doesn't just look good and sound good, it plays well too. And while it's definitely not on the same complexity level as other recent action games like Dante's Awakening or God of War, it still has some real value to it. Besides, the game is obviously aimed at children who don't care about 79-hit chain combos anyway.
