Leelee Sobieski Leelee Sobieski (born Liliane Rudabet Gloria Elsveta Sobieski on June 10, 1983) is an American actress. Biography Early life Sobieski was born in New York City; her first name, "Liliane", was the name of her paternal grandmother. Sobieski's French father, Jean Sobieski, is a painter who appeared in French and Italian spaghetti Westerns during his youth, as well as dated actress Jean Seberg. Her mother, Elizabeth Salomon, is an American writer who ... works as Sobieski's manager. She has a younger brother, Roby. Sobieski's late maternal grandfather, United States Navy captain Robert
Leelee Sobieski, nicknamed Lee, is of Polish and French heritage and speaks French fluently. Her hobbies include collecting strands of hair from various celebrities appearing with her in films. She loves painting, ceramics, poetry, martial arts and horseback riding, and is a hopeless romantic who agrees with the words from and old Beatles song, "All You Need Is Love."
Talk about being in the right place at the right time: Leelee Sobieski was having lunch in her school cafeteria when she was spotted by a casting agent for Interview With The Vampire. Although acting wasn't part of her grand plan (she had hoped to become a writer or painter), the 11-year-old agreed to audition for the role of Claudia. Despite losing the part to Kirsten Dunst, Sobieski was hooked. After a few cereal commercials and TV flicks, she got called up to the majors, scoring parts in Jungle2Jungle, Deep Impact, A Soldier's Daughter Never Cries, Joan of Arc, and Eyes Wide Shut.

Leelee Sobieski Born Liliane Rudabet Gloria Elsveta Sobieski on June 10, 1982, Leelee Sobieski has shot to ingénue stardom in the time it takes to say "Helen Hunt's spitting image." The young actress, who does indeed bear a striking resemblance to Hunt, first came to the attention of art house audiences with her role in A Soldier's Daughter Never Cries (1998). Thanks to her participation in two high-profile projects, Deep Impact and Eyes Wide Shut, Sobieski has garnered both widespread recognition and the distinction of being one of the most promising actresses of her generation. Born and bred in New York City, Sobieski, the eldest of two children, was raised by her father, a French painter, and her mother, a freelance writer. She was "discovered," rather unexpectedly, in her school's cafeteria by Woody Allen's casting director. With the encouragement of her parents, Sobieski began auditioning, trying out at one point for the part that went to Kirsten Dunst in Interview With the Vampire.

Leelee Sobieski got her start as a child actor, a term that generally precedes a discussion involving mug shots, an unfortunate heroin addiction and squandered talent. Sobieski has managed to steer clear of the pitfalls that turn precocious kiddies into Hollywood stereotypes. She nabbed her first TV role as an 11-year old and has since filled in her resume with roles in films such as Eyes Wide Shut, Joy Ride and The Wicker Man. We caught up with Sobieski to talk about her upcoming sword and sorcery flick In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale. The movie, a loose adaptation of Gas Powered Games’ hit PC title Dungeon Siege, drops January 11. Read up on what Leelee had to say about strapping up some armor, director Uwe Boll and her own spicy little sadistic side.
