Lee Trevino: Balls
built 653 days ago
Trevino's display of those 4 shots - he made it look very routine. He was not in contention and he was not striking the ball well but getting into trouble was not a problem. Despite of the odds, he knew how to take best advantage of the situation.

In the end, it didn't look at all like Hogan's swing, if only because of Trevino's short, chunky physique, but he got the same result. And then some. No one questions the assessment that Trevino became the best ball-striker since Hogan. In the 1990s, he was once asked when he last hit a ball out of bounds. In all sincerity, he couldn't remember. Nor could anyone else.

That's not why you come to see Lee Trevino, though. He's almost 68 years old and his ball doesn't jump off the tee like it used to and the fast greens give him fits.

Trevino is considered one of the best ballstrikers, and one of the most creative ballstrikers, the game has ever seen. He aligned left of his target and faded the ball, and was amazingly consistent at putting the ball right where he wanted it.
