Lee Ann Womack has found her career song with "I Hope You Dance." It's uplifting message and touching video won the hearts of all who saw and heard it. The song has won CMA Song and Single of 2000, and ACM Single and Song of 2001.

While waiting for her eventual breakthrough, Lee Ann kept busy with her own songwriting, and performed her demos for other songwriters. Finally, at one of her showcases, a representative from Tree Publishing came to hear her and was mighty impressed. After passing on a demo tape of her original songs to other executives at Tree, Lee Ann was signed as a songwriter in 1995.
