Last summer, the Law School broke ground for the Eck Hall of Law, scheduled for completion in early 2009. The building is named for the late Frank Eck, Sr., a 1944 alum of the University of Notre Dame’s undergraduate program. Law was founded in 1966 and is the oldest law school in Orange County. Western State University College of Law is recognized for its diverse student body with more than 40% minority enrollment. The Law Library is a research facility designed to support the work of students and faculty of the University of Miami School of Law. With over 620,000 volumes and volume equivalents (microforms), it is one of the largest legal research libraries in the Southeast.
