Laura Gemser stars as none other than Emanuelle, a reporter posing as a patient at a mental institution looking for the latest scoop. Things heat up when a female patient proceeds to take a chunk of a nurse's breast in what appears to be an act of cannibalism (what is it with these Italian directors and their breast biting?). Emanuelle sneaks into the offending patients room and manually umm, "pleasures" her if you will, and notices a tribal tattoo on her stomach belonging to a lost tribe of cannibals. Emanuelle somehow convinces her editor to fund an expedition into the Amazon to search for the cannibal tribe. Emanuelle and her bud, Professor Mark Lester from the museum (D'Amato regular Gabriele Tinti) begin their quest. Their expedition teams them with a couple; the McKenzie's on a quest of their own for some missing diamonds as well as a host of others.

Sylvia's Emmanuelle is more naive than Laura and closer to the Emmanuelle of Arsan's presumed autobiography, says Bob Rimmer. Laura Gemser fans rejoice. Last year, Shriek Show announced that it would release Erotic Nights of the Living Dead on DVD. With all street date switches, there was no word on if and when this one would be released. Well, it looks like it'll now be available on June 29, 2004. Extras have not be annouced yet but an anamorphic widescreen transfer is promised with an English dubbed track. Since the movie is XXX, there will be an edited censored version and an uncut version.
