A laser is an electronic-optical device that produces coherent light radiation. The term "laser" is an acronym for "Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation".[1][2] A typical laser emits light in a narrow, low-divergence monochromatic (single-coloured, if the laser is operating in the visible spectrum), beam with a well-defined wavelength. In this way, laser light is in contrast to a light source such as the incandescent light bulb, which emits light over a wide area and over a wide spectrum of wavelengths.
The IntraLase laser makes LASIK safer by replacing the hand-held microkeratome blade with the computer-guided precision of a laser, virtually eliminating almost all the most severe, sight-threatening blade-related LASIK complications as a result. Leading LASIK surgeons report on data of the more than one million IntraLase Method procedures, which demonstrate an impressive safety profile.
To generate images, laserTVs use a red, blue, and green laser in place of white-light mercury lamps. The result is images that are brighter and deeper, having a richer, more vibrant color palette than the conventional plasma, CRT, or LCD displays, and that can be displayed on large, thin, lightweight screens.

The concept of the semiconductor laser diode was proposed by Basov and Javan. The first laser diode was demonstrated by Robert N. Hall in 1962. Hall's device was made of gallium arsenide and emitted at 850 nm in the near-infrared region of the spectrum. The first semiconductor laser with visible emission was demonstrated later the same year by Nick Holonyak, Jr. As with the first gas lasers, these early semiconductor lasers could be used only in pulsed operation, and indeed only when cooled to liquid nitrogen temperatures (77 K).
Recent rigging innovations make the Laser easier and more enjoyable to sail, and better to race. One used to have to stand up in the boat after the leeward mark and jump down on the boom while taking the slack out of a 3-1 vang to get enough tension! Now, with an 8-1 slippery spectra line swiveled vang, more than enough can be pulled on from a hiking position. Tillers with rollers allow a helm with great feel. Loops in the outhaul allow it ... to be adjusted while hiking.
The ILTA is proud to distribute the first video created exclusively for the laser tag industry. This video will be useful for anyone looking to start a business or learn more about the industry overall or for the players. To learn more, click [here] to read the details.
