Larry King is the host of “Larry King Live,” the first worldwide phone-in television talk show. An Emmy-award winner and author of 12 books, he is considered a master of his profession within and beyond the industry. King has conducted more than 40,000 interviews, including every living U.S. president and first lady since the Nixon administration, world leaders, dignitaries and celebrities. King’s famed NAFTA debate between Al Gore and Ross Perot in 1993 broke ratings records in the cable industry. King is the recipient of a multitude of awards and honors. Among them, he has been inducted into five of the nation’s leading broadcasting halls of fame and is the recipient of the Allen H. Neuharth Award for Excellence in Journalism, the George Foster Peabody Award for Excellence in Broadcasting, the News and Documentary Emmy Award for Outstanding Interviewer, 10 CableACE awards and a New York Festival Awards for his Sept. 11 coverage.

In addition, he has guest starred on 1500 different television series with an average of 54 appearances on each. He has won more than 7000 Grammy Awards, most for Best Rap Production. Further, he has written over one thousand books, all of them best sellers. In fact, eleven of his books are currently in the New York Times Top Ten.

To mark 50 years in broadcasting Larry King Live had a week long celebration that included a two hour CNN presents special and an hour of celebrity toast. The broadcast of this special week long event was postponed due to the tragedy at Virginia Tech. XM Satellite Radio ... featured a micro channel called "Larry!" that featured replays of The Larry King Show along with interviews and the new material from the CNN anniversary shows which aired from April 26 to May 4, 2007 on channel 130.

Larry King Live consistently makes headlines with interviews with such newsworthy guests as President Bill Clinton, Marlon Brando, Michael Jordan and Yasser Arafat. King's famed NAFTA debate between Vice President Al Gore and Ross Perot in 1993 obtained the highest cable rating in CNN history outside its Gulf War coverage. CNN talk king Larry King, as well as California congresswoman Loretta Sanchez and Court TV's Dominick Dunne and Rikki Klieman, will guest-star as themselves on Part 2 of The Closer's Season 3 finale, airing Sept. 10 on TNT. In the episode, Brenda Leigh is called to testify in a high-profile court case after an investigation goes not quite as smoothly as she would have liked. As the case gets under way, King (as host of Larry King Live) interviews Congresswoman Sanchez about the case at hand, while Dunne and Klieman offer legal commentary from the courthouse steps. read more
