Larry King: Interviews
built 654 days ago
Larry King, television and radio talk show host, claims to have interviewed over 30,000 people during his career. In 1989, the Guinness Book of World Records credited him as having logged more hours on national radio than any other talk show personality in history.

Larry King opened the hour by saying that it wasn’t clear if Dr. Jan Adams would appear as promised. King said that West’s family had formally asked Adams not to go on the show, but that he was still conferring with his lawyers. King then proceeded to interview several entertainment reporters who had been lined up for later in the show.
Every night, King interviews one or more prominent individuals, mainly celebrities, politicians, and businesspeople. The one-hour show is broadcast three times a day in some areas, and can be seen all over the world on CNN International. Among those interviewed include Diane Sawyer, Nancy Grace, Steve Irwin, Sandra Bullock, Natalie Portman, Celine Dion, La Toya Jackson, Benny Hinn, Patricia Hearst, Dominick Dunne, Bob Woodward, Mike Wallace, Wynonna Judd, Donald Trump, John Walsh, Richard Pryor, Bill and Hillary Clinton, President & Mrs. George W. Bush, Senator and Mrs. John Kerry, Martha Stewart, James Dobson, Dean Cain, the cast of The Andy Griffith Show (after actor Don Knotts' death in 2006), and the cast of NBC's Law & Order.

For reasons unknown, The Insider interviewed Larry King, his wife, and their two children about how they plan to spend the holidays. It's the first time King's sons Chance, 8, and Cannon, 7, have been interviewed, and they're not only rambunctious, but it's pretty awesome how they don't really care to behave when the cameras are around. In the clip above, watch how Larry is confused when the family is singing Christmas carols, but then the boys decide to sing Kanye West's "You Can't Tell Me Nothin'." It's not really Larry's fault though, he is like five generations older than they are.

On February 27, 1987, King suffered a major heart attack and then had quintuple-bypass surgery. Coincidentally, this occurred the day after Larry King took over the Don and Mike Show. It was a life-altering event. Previously, smoking was one of his trademarks and he was not apologetic about this habit. King was a three-pack-a-day smoker and kept a lit cigarette during his interview so he would not have to take time to light up during breaks.
Entertainment Tonight called him the “master interviewer,” and King has made cameo appearances in 18 movies including Ghostbusters, Primary Colors, Contact, The Kid, The Contender and the upcoming film, America’s Sweethearts. King has appeared in such television series as Murphy Brown, Frasier and Murder One.
