Larry King Larry King is an American television presenter and talk show host. He is currently the host of the CNN's ?Larry King Live?, the first worldwide phone-in television talk show and the network's highest-rated program. The Emmy Award-winning King and author of multiple books has been dubbed 'the most remarkable talk-show host on TV ever" by TV Guide and "master of the mike" by ?Time? Magazine.

In 1957, Larry King started his broadcast career as a newscaster at Miami’s WIOD radio station. Shortly after, he reached local stardom when he became a television commentator on Miami Undercover. 1978, King went national, inheriting the nightly talk show slot on the Mutual Radio Network, working as a newscaster until 1994. Currently, he is the host of “Larry King Live,” CNN's longest-running interview program. Premiering in June 1985 with its now-famous mix of interviews and topical discussions, the show features guests from across the gamut of business, entertainment and politics. The show brings in millions of viewers from across the world viewers nightly.

Larry King Live broadcasts from Los Angeles from CNN's studios. Sometimes, the show broadcasts from CNN's studios in New York and sometimes from Washington, the city where King gained national prominence during his years as a radio interviewer for the Mutual Broadcasting System. Each studio set features an identical colored-dot map of the world in the background and one of King's trademarks, a vintage RCA microphone, on the desk. The microphone is a prop, as King and his guests use lapel microphones.

During the month of July, CNN's "Larry King Live" both began and ended with interviews of vice presidents. On July 5, host Larry King interviewed former vice president Al Gore. On July 31, King interviewed sitting vice president Dick Cheney. The difference between the two interviews is like night and day. King, for the most part, did not press Gore for an answer to his questions, and asked a few light questions (such as, "How did you get Madonna?" for "Live Earth"). On the other hand, King's questions to Cheney pressed the vice president on a number of hot political topics (for example, "General Powell says he would close Guantanamo yesterday.

If you happened to be flying over Schnepf Farms in Queen Creek during the fall of 2003, you might have seen the image of CNN's longtime talk show host Larry King carved in a ten acre corn maze. The maze image was cooked up by Larry's seventh wife (sixth if you don't count repeat marriages), Shawn Southwick, and the Schnepfs to kick off the celebration of his 70th birthday.
