Elonex aims to create a milestone in the ultra-portable notebook and laptop market. The company is prepping for the release of its new product: the One (wonder if they got Keanu endorsing for them). The ONE is the first sub £100 laptop in the UK. Even in other parts of the world (including developing economies) ... the price could be considered quite affordable. And rightly so, for Elonex designed the ONE for the education sector.

Last week Gateway introduced a new 17-inch laptop, the M680. The M680 replaces the M675 from Gateway. The M680 weighs 7.7 pounds and is about 1.24 inches thick. For a 17"widescreen laptop that's arelatively thin and light offering, many 17-inch screen notebooks will weigh in at 9lbs or more.The M680 can be configured with an ATI Mobility Radeon x700 PCIExpress card with 128MB of RAM, upto a 2.13GHz Pentium M processor,comes standard with at least 512MB of DDR2 RAM (up to 2GB), up to 100GB hard drive and5400RPM hard drive speeds available.

Depending on what a laptop's intended purpose is, there are many varieties to choose from. No matter what use the purchaser might have in mind, there is a probably a laptop notebook out there to meet his needs.
