Throughout the ages, Kyoto has suffered staggering damage from natural disasters and wars. Many spectacular ancient shrines and artifacts still stand today, because during World War II, Kyoto was deemed a historic site and not targeted during air raids on the country.
In much the same context, Kyoto has some serious economic implications which not only threaten the economic viability of this generation but the next. The lost economic opportunity on spending billions of dollars implementing such a scheme and the billions of dollars lost in economic development could go to solving real and tangible problems such as democracy in developing nations, feeding the poor and 'shock horror' developing new technology to provide real solutions for global climate change. Whether those solutions are limiting human induced carbon emmissions or developing mitigation processes- the market, not a lobby of environmentalists and career burecrats, is in the best place to decide where those resources should apply.
Kyoto Planet Mind and its activities will become a valuable resource for business, researchers and individual citizens. Mind’s membership will interact directly with the broader Kyoto Planet community, and the results of its efforts will be accessible to all.

Sharing a cup at Otagi Nenbutsu-ji No night in Kyoto is complete without the requisite after hours visit to all-night Ing (a.k.a., "Box Bar," or "the office"). Proprietor Hako-san will keep bringing you big bottles of Sapporo (¥600 each shareable bottle), happy to join for a drink when offered. Food there is always an option - tofu salad & potato pizza are good for the price (¥600). Get ready for Rolling Stones, competitive Jenga, sharing tables with odd drunk people, and clothes permanently soaked in smoke. Good luck finding it. If you see Hamid's Falafel you're on the right track. Ing is on the second floor of a building slightly south of Hamid's.
