Almost all the percussion samples in this track are Kraftwerk percussion sounds. Or rather, they're Karl Bartos percussion sounds that are best known from their use in Kraftwerk songs during his time with the group.

Very few groups can claim to be more seminal than Kraftwerk, which was formed in the early 1970s but continued to have an enormous impact in the late 1990s. To say that the German group was way ahead of its time is no exaggeration - Kraftwerk built its sound around electronic instruments at a time when many rock and soul artists had never even touched synthesizers or electronic drums.

Barr's book gives the immediate impression of being woven around Kraftwerk rather than being focused on the group itself. Barr takes a cultural studies approach, aiming to place Kraftwerk in a cultural, social and even political context, but the attempt is combined with wild and crass assertions, and the over-the-top rhetoric of pop journalism which seems out of place in a book:
