built 177 days ago
The Korean War Veterans Memorial consists of a platoon of stainless steel soldiers in the "Field of Service". All four branches of the military (army, navy, Marine Corps, and air force) are depicted by the statues. To the left of the soldiers extends a black granite wall. Over two thousand photographs sandblasted into the wall honor the supporting services who provided supply, medical, spiritual, and fire support to the frontline units.

The Korean War Veterans Memorial honors the men and women, who answered the call to defend democracy during the Korean War. A squad of 19 stainless steel statues represents members of the Army, Marines, Navy and Air force united on patrol. A 164 foot long black granite wall depicts the supporting services through sandblasted photographic images, and inscriptions at The Pool of Remembrance list the numbers of those missing in action, held prisoner of war, wounded and killed in action.
