Located in Buena Park, California, minutes from Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm is America’s first theme park. Knotts Berry Farm will have all the family entertained for hours on end. With countless coasters and amazing attractions this wonder park will leave you, but maybe not those with a weak heart, craving more and more. The heart and soul of Knotts is Ghost Town, an 1880's California boom town with cowboys, gunfights, stage-coaches, and a steam train. Authentic in every detail, Ghost Town is a real town with a real Sheriff and real buildings and treats you to the world's first log flume ride and a rare chance to pan for real gold!

Knott’s Berry Farm started exactly as that; a berry farm in 1920. In 1928 Mrs. Knott opened a little tearoom next to their roadside berry stand. Then during the depression she began serving fried chicken dinners. Soon people were waiting in line halfway around the berry farm on Sunday afternoons to enjoy the delicious down home dinner. Walter Knott thought he’d better do something to entertain the people while they were waiting. So in 1940 he began creating a western ghost town paying tribute to the gold rush pioneers who had blazed the trails just a couple of generations before.

The Boardwalk section of Knotts Berry Farm is alive with the excitement of several major thrill rides. In the photo to your right, you see the super-steep, hairpin drop of the Xcelerator roller coaster. Whoa--just look at that thing! The Boomerang coaster and Supreme Scream free-fall ride are two other white-knuckle favorites of adrenaline-rush lovers.
- This is the land where Knott's Berry Farm originated. Modeled after an 1880s California "Boom Town" (the buildings here were transported from real mining towns across the Western U.S.), this land is home to the world's first log flume ride, one of the longest roller coasters in the world - GhostRider, and a host of other themed attractions. The best part of this land... is the opportunity to go "panning" for real gold! There's also a fun stunt show and the chance to enjoy some Wild West entertainment at the Calico Saloon, where they serve sarsaparilla and boysenberry punch.
