Kim Campbell, Prime Minister of Canada A lawyer, Kim Campbell was a university lecturer in political science before entering politics as a school board trustee in Vancouver, British Columbia. After her election defeat in 1993, Kim Campbell lectured at Harvard University. She served as Canadian Consul General in Los Angeles from 1996 to 2000 and has been active in the Council of Women World Leaders.
During the spring semester of 1994, Kim Campbell was a fellow at the Institute of Politics of the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. She returned in the September as a fellow of the Joan Shorenstein-Barone Centre on the Press Politics and Public Policy where she will complete work on a book about her five years in Ottawa.

Kim Campbell first entered public life in 1981, when she was elected to the Vancouver School Board. By the next year, she was School Board chair. In 1983, the Social Credit Party asked her to run for the B.C. provincial legislature. Although she was defeated, Campbell became a policy advisor to the premier. She ran unsuccessfully for the party leadership in 1986, and in the same year was elected as a Member of the Legislative Assembly. Campbell attracted the attention of the federal Tories, and in 1988 won election as a Conservative MP and was appointed Minister of State for Indian Affairs and Northern Development in Brian Mulroney's Cabinet.
Kim Campbell Kim Campbell retired from politics after her defeat, and began teaching at Harvard University. An accomplished scholar, she has five honorary doctorates. For four years she served as Consul General of Canada in Los Angeles. Ms. Campbell has played an active role in many international organizations, including the International Women's Forum (became president in 2003) and the Club of Madrid--of which she became the Secretary General in January 2004. Former heads of government have joined the latter group to promote the growth of democracy in the world. Kim Campbell was born in Port Alberni, British Columbia to George T. Campbell and Phyllis Cook. She later married Nathan Divinsky (divorced him) and later married Howard Eddy. They later divorced. (no children)
Rockville Centre, N.Y. - Director of Athletics, Susan Cassidy-Lyke, announced that Kim Campbell has been hired as the interim head women's soccer coach effective immediately. Campbell served as an assistant coach for the Molloy College women's soccer team for the past four years. Prior to Molloy, Campbell spent a year as a graduate assistant for her alma mater, Adelphi University.
