Rap-rocker Kid Rock was arrested in Nashville, Tennessee yesterday morning on assault charges. The hitmaker, 34, was charged with simple assault - a misdemeanor - after allegedly punching DJ Jay Campos in Christie's Cabaret stripclub in the early hours of this morning. Nashville Night Court Commissioner Howard Taradash set bond at $3,000 for the star, who remains in custody until bail is posted. Local police Sergeant James Smith says, "Inside the establishment there was a squabble concerning, I guess, the selection of music. Again there are no major injuries but an assault did take place."

Rock N Roll Jesus album cover Kid Rock's Rock N Roll Jesus came in at Number One this week, selling 170,000 copies. Rock's triumph was a set back for Bruce Springsteen, who despite winning over the indie rock population with his onstage Arcade Fire collaboration, slipped to Number Two this week. The Boss sold 130,000 copies his second week on the chart. Country trio Rascal Flatts follows at Number Three, after selling 96,000 copies of Still Feels Good. MORE

Kid Rock has been loud and proud in his support of the men and women of the United States Military. In January 2001, he donated proceeds from a Norfolk, Virginia concert to the Navy Marine Corp Relief Society, an effort undertaken to aid the families of those crewmembers killed in the terrorist attack on the USS Cole. The concert came about after Rock heard that "American Bad Ass" was played over the loudspeakers of the crippled naval ship just as it pulled out of port to head home. December of that year saw Rock and TBT visiting the Ramstein Air Force Base in Germany to perform alongside J-Lo and Ja Rule for a massive U.S.O. show (later broadcast on MTV as For The Troops: An MTV/U.S.O. Special).
Rocker Tommy Lee has apologized to Alicia Keys for brawling with Kid Rock during her MTV Video Music Awards performance on Sunday. Lee was forced to sit still by security staff at the Palms in Las Vegas after exchanging fighting talk with his nemesis, and now he's speaking out about the incident. In a posting on his website, the Motley Crue drummer insists he was the innocent party in the fracas, just hanging out with pals Criss Angel and Travis Barker. He says, "I get a tap on the shoulder from Kid Pebble. Well if ya wanna call it that!?... (It was) more like a bitch slap!...

Review: 3.5 out of 4 stars Kid Rock, Rev Run, Peter Wolf Set length: 31 songs, 2 hours 45 minutes High point: Kid Rock's mini-set Rev Run of Run DMC brought some old-school hip-hop gravitas. Low point: Kid's turntable shtick, while shorter than on previous tours, seemed like old hat at this point.

krxmas2.jpg Kid Rock is awesome, whether you love or hate his music, after the first year - celebrities quit coming around because there was nothing to gain. With a hubby over there, who hasn't gotten to see anything, it's sad that these stars came when there were cameras.
