Spacey grew up in California, where he began his career as a stage actor in the 1980s. Then he began to get supporting roles in film and television. His first screen breaks came in 1986 released "Heartburn". Then came, "Working Girl" in 1989 where he played a Wall Street broker. Before long, he did more films and came to be regarded as a respected actor. The early 1990s witnessed him playing many supporting roles.

It has recently been confirmed that he will reprise the role in the upcoming sequel, scheduled for 2009. The film opened on June 28, 2006.
