Their VDR-55 plays standard DVDs and DVD-Rs, as well as CDs loaded with your quality collection of MP3 and WMA files. They're even hawking a special cable to connect your iPod directly to the unit, totally making the use of CDs obsolete. Kenwood's ... releasing the LZ-702IR 7-inch screen in conjunction with the VDR-55. With a resolution of 480x234, the VDR-55's $522 partner in crime will actually be available first, sometime later this month (in Japan, of course) while the $427 VDR-55 won't hits stores until late June. Better check to see if your insurance premiums are affected by having an entertainment center installed in that sweet ride of yours.

While Kenwood residents had a variety of transportation options for decades, the “L” finally reached the community in 1907, and the terminus of the Kenwood branch was built out to 42nd Place and the lake in 1910. This new rapid transit facility attracted Loop office workers to the northern part of Kenwood, and rooming houses and kitchenette apartments proliferated. Numerous walk-up apartment buildings were constructed west of the Illinois Central tracks in the 1910s, and the population of the area increased to 21,000 by 1920. East of the railroad tracks some vacant land remained, but the late 1920s saw the addition of two impressive art deco elevator apartment buildings along with the increased popularity of the Chicago Beach Hotel at Hyde Park Boulevard and Lake Michigan.

Kenwood hasn't yet imported an amateur 900mhz radio so the USA hams are forced into using surplus commercial radios. The only practical Kenwood radios to use are the TK-431 and TK-481 handhelds and the TK-941 and TK-981 mobiles. The TK-481 and TK-981 are preferred over the 431 and 941. The TK-430/480/940/980 radios are 800mhz and will not work as user radios on amateur 900mhz. You will need the KPG-36 (handheld) or KPG-46 (mobile) programming cable to connect a serial port from your computer to the radio in order to download your frequencies into the radio.
