Kenny Rogers: Audiences
built 200 days ago
Kenny Rogers is an incredibly talenetd musician. Although he has been very successful, charting more than 60 top 40 hit singles across various music genres and topping the country and pop album charts for more than 100 individual weeks in the United States alone, many still consider him a vastly underrated artist. To his fans, he is extraordinarily popular; women in concert audiences bring him roses in unrelenting waves throughout a performance. He appeals to all age groups and still sells millions of albums.

FIGURING he knows what his audience wants, the singer Kenny Rogers is back in another TV western. This one, on CBS at 9 this evening, is called ''Wild Horses'' and, like ''The Gambler'' and ''Coward of the County,'' it comes out of the same formula country once roamed by Gene Autry, Roy Rogers and Hopalong Cassidy. Kenny Rogers, his hair whiter and his gut heavier, simply gives the tradition his own low-key, laid-back spin in a contemporary setting.

After Linda’s performance Kenny returned to the stage. He asked the audience if they remembered the songs from The First Edition. He then joked about the video screen not coming down for his next performance. Kenny’s performance of “Just Dropped In” brought back a lot of memories from a tumultuous era in the early 70’s. As he performed the song, the original music video played on the big screen. It was pretty cool to see a video of Kenny from his early days.
