Preston was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, and launched her acting career as a teenager. After high school, she studied drama at the University of Southern California, and transferred to the University of California at Los Angeles to pursue acting seriously. Her feature film debut was in the comedy Twins, with Arnold Schwarzeneggar and Danny DeVito. She may be best known for her role as Avery, Tom Cruise’s ambitious and aggressive fiancée, in the film Jerry Maguire. She ... starred in the film comedy Holy Man, with Eddie Murphy and Jeff Goldblum, and in Jack Frost opposite Michael Keaton.
