Like many of today's successful models, Kathy Ireland has used modeling as the foundation for a small business empire. Familiar to fans of Sports Illustrated's swimsuit issue (she has appeared in more than one dozen editions), Ireland has ... established herself as an actress, appearing in such feature films as Side Out (1990), Mr. Destiny (1991), Necessary Roughness (1991), National Lampoon's Loaded Weapon I (1993), and in the nighttime television soap Melrose Place (1994). Ireland also markets a line of fitness clothes through K-Mart. In addition, she has served as a consultant for ESPN-2's fitness program Bodyshaping, and produced her own fitness videos.

Kathy is very busy, between her business activities – the company's headquarters is in Los Angeles, and has offices in Palm Springs and Hawaii, she often works on the road and from her home office in Santa Barbara. Kathy is married, with one son, Erik, 12 and daugthers Lilly 7, and Chloe 3. From the outset, Kathy has made it very clear that her family would take priority – even before she had her children. Everyone in her organization, which now numbers 37 team members, is very clear on what Kathy's priorites are.

Ireland is a passionate advocate on behalf of various non-profit organizations. She is acknowledged by UCLA as one of the top 10 women’s health advocates in America. She is the Entertainment Industry Foundation’s (EIF) Ambassador for Women’s Health Issues and EIF’s Ambassador for the National Women’s Cancer Research Alliance. She is Ambassador of Hope for the City of Hope and National Chair of Family Services and Parenting for Athletes and Entertainers for Kids. She is active in the Special Olympics, and each holiday season, she partners with Feed The Children and underwrites the distribution of 170,000 pounds of food, clothing and toys to children in need across the nation. She is the National Ambassador for the Help One Up organization whose mission is that no child should have to sleep on the floor.
