Supermodel Kate Moss was "discovered" at 14 by Sarah Doukas of the Storm Modeling Agency, while she was passing through JFK International Airport on vacation with her parents. She is 5-foot-7 and weighs an estimated 100 pounds, perhaps a few pounds less, though she says she never weighs herself. Through the 1990s and early 00s, she was one of the world's most recognizable models. Moss starred in a series of Calvin Klein ads through the 1990s, spurring a period of waify "heroin chic" in the modeling world, which emphasized emaciation and de-emphasized breasts. Moss was photographed with utterly blank face, as if stoned or exhausted. Klein reportedly paid her £1 million a year, until her contract was not renewed in 1999, "by mutual agreement".

After a series of shoots for teenage magazines, it was Harper’s Bazaar that finally launched her into the international arena. In 1992, she became the Face of Calvin Klein. Moss originally spearheaded the controversial ''waif'' look which critics claimed encouraged anorexia in impressionable teenagers. The girl from Croydon, who once said she ''might’ve been a bank manager'' now divides her time between London and LA, where she is often seen at The Viper Rooms, the controversial club owned by her one-time actor boyfriend Johnny Depp. She has appeared in several notable documentaries about the fashion world and in 1995, released a hard-back book of pictures entitled simply ''Kate''.

Although Kate's career has been multi-faceted to say the least, not all has been rosy in the story of Kate Moss.
