In February / March 2008, Katarina Witt herself will be seen on the ice for the last time. The most successful figure skater ever will exclusively show how athletic records and the aesthetics of figure skating may be combined to an unforgettable event - for her fans all over the world. She will be accompanied by her colleagues, the international top stars of figure skating.

Witt added acting to her resume in 1980 when she won an Emmy Award for her performance in HBO's "Carmen On Ice" and ... appeared in the hit film "Jerry Maguire" and the television show "Arli$$". Witt not only starred in the HBO special "The Ice Princess", she also co-produced the project.
Katarina Witt, has co-produced and performed in the second annual Alberto VO5 Divas on Ice, a one-time only show combining the beauty of figure skating with the spontaneous energy of live music. The creative theme of the show centers around a night out with the girls. “Katarina and her friends go out clubbing to an imaginary nightclub featuring the band Dave’s True Story, which is a backdrop for all of the musical and skating performances,” reports artistic director and choreographer Lea Ann Miller.
Still, Thomas deserved credit for maintaining considerable poise in the face of all the preshow hype, as did Witt. Everywhere the rival ice queens went, cameras snapped, reporters prodded, fans pursued. Some excess was inevitable, the inescapable glamour of a competition that features svelte young women in scanty costumes. As Thomas sardonically remarked, "It's definitely a Miss America sport."

If anyone was blessed with crossover appeal it was Witt, but her growth outside of competition appeared stunted. She did not catch on as an analyst with CBS during the American network's coverage of the 1992 Winter Olympics. Her predecessors had made stable transitions to the professional ice shows, but wasn't Witt supposed to do more than that? Her appeal once transcended salchows and double axels.
