Kasey Kahne: Drivers
built 605 days ago
Kasey Kahne is smart, friendly and very media savvy. He is the perfect example of the new breed of NASCAR driver. Though one of the younger drivers in the series he has a ton of talent and drives wiser than his years of experience would suggest.

Kahne started the #9 McDonald’s/Dodge Dealers Dodge on the pole and finished 2nd in the August 25th Sharpie 500. His gain of four spots was the biggest of the drivers making all 24 races so far this season. Kahne is now 23rd in the standings. He won the Busch Series race at Bristol on Friday night as well.

Kahne started the #9 Budweiser Dodge 37th in the lineup and finished 6th. This gain of 31 places earned him the USG "Improving the Finish" award given to the driver who best improves their finish from the green flag to the checkered flag during each Cup race. Kahne, the only driver with top tens in all three races so far this season, moved up 2 spots to 4th in the 2008 Sprint Cup point standings after this race.

If your son loves racing, then the officially licensed NASCAR #9 Kasey Kahne bedroom is for him! The bookcase bed is crafted of wood solids and maple veneers with beadboard and chrome details. Display space at the head and foot of the bed are a winning combination. Matching furniture pieces feature checkered flag inspired elements and hardware with Kasey’s lucky number 9. This is part of the Drivers’ Series licensed by Winning Link.*

Kahne won the most recent Cup race at Fontana in September (and followed it up with a third-place finish at Richmond that helped him edge Tony Stewart for the final Chase spot last season) after starting ninth. Polesitter Gordon is the only driver to win more than one Cup race at Fontana, with three victories (1997, 1999, 2004).

As you may recall, Kasey Kahne was trying to enter the driver’s motor home lot when a track security guard Archibald Hutchison asked for the proper credentials to allow Kahne and his brother Kale into the lot. Of course Kahne did not have his credentials with him and Hutchison stood in the way of the entrance. The frustrated driver allegedly shoved the 62 year old man to the ground, injuring his back.
