Kasey Kahne practicing for the 2007 Ford 400 at the Homestead-Miami Speedway. During the early laps of the Auto Club 500 Kahne worked his way from 20th to 14th, but brushed the wall on lap 7. He ... went on to finish a strong 9th after the long rain delay the race suffered. Kahne Had a good run in the UAW-Dodge 400 after having to start in the back due to an engine change. He finished the day off with a strong race car and wound up 7th in Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Kahne's victory was not as dominating as his most recent win, which came in last month's Coca-Cola 600. He damaged the car in practice Saturday when he slapped the wall. A plastic wrapper collected on Kahne's grille about 45 laps into the race, overheating his engine. He pitted so the crew could remove the trash, but lost a lap and fell to 38th. Kahne got back on the lead lap when rain slowed the race on lap 55.

: Kahne's 2008 sponsor. Rumors have been swirling since Dale Jr. defected to Hendrick Motorsports that Budweiser would move to the No. 9 car of Kasey Kahne. Sources at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pa., are telling the good folk at Jayski that it's a done deal and will be announced in the next couple weeks. The UAW/Dodge Dealers group, Kahne's sponsor until 2010, would have to agree to give up the main spot.
Kahne has driven chassis no. 111 to an average finish of 13.5 in the final two superspeedway races in ‘06. In 2006, Kahne finished a career best 11th at DIS after starting in 38th position. Kahne started 30th and finished 16th in the second of the qualifying races.
