Kano

The son of an American woman, Kano was orphaned overseas at a young age. He spent his earliest years living in poverty on the streets of Tokyo. He was taken in by members of the Black Dragon Organization, an infamous and widely-feared international crime syndicate. It was then that he began his life of violence and larceny. His cunning and skill as a martial artist and expert knife fighter allowed him to rise quickly through the Organization's ranks. It was during this time that he first ran afoul of the woman who would eventually become his arch-nemesis, U.S. Army special forces member Lieutenant Sonya Blade.

The sophomore release from London born grime virtuoso Kano is the follow-up to 2005's 'Home Sweet Home,' and sees the young MC maturing as both a lyricist and a musician. Featuring guest appearances from the cream of the British music scene including Kate Nash and Damon Albarn the album's angry socio-political subject matter is combined with intelligent instrumentation to produce material comparable with the likes of Dizzee Rascal and Lethal Bizzle. Includes the singles 'This Is The Girl' and 'Feel Free.'

In 1907 Kano had the sleeves and pants of the Judogi fully lengthened to cover the arms and legs and protect the elbows and knees. The jacket was ... shortened. Thus, the Judogi assumed the final form in which it is still used today. This was in sharp contrast to the early days when Judoka wore shorts and a jacket that left half the arms as well as the knees and legs exposed. By the time Kano was 60 he gave up wearing a Judogi, simply putting on a haori (formal shirt) and performing his kata in that way.

Kano appears on Malibu Comics series keeping his personality and history faithful to the early games' portrayal. He ... was protagonist of a 3-issues miniseries alongside Raiden entitled Rayden & Kano. During the Blood & Thunder series it is shown the origin of Sonya's vendetta against him, when he kills Sonya's partner (called Lance/Sparky in the comics) during a tournament battle by means of a heart rip. His motivations to loot the island are replaced by his discovery of the Thao The Zan and the powers it grants. During the series' epilogue in the Tournament Edition issue, he's finally captured by Sonya and Jax and sent into custody.
